The Asteroid mission to save earth is called DART-Double Asteroid Redirection Test. DART's mission is to save earth by re-directing the asteroid before it can impact earth. Its directed by NASA to Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) along with JPL.
DART is a planetary defence-driven test of technologies for preventing an impact of Earth by a hazardous asteroid. DART will be the first demonstration of the kinetic impactor technique to change the motion of an asteroid in space.
